This is a song about legendary Voodoo practitioner, priestess, witch (I don't think 'witch' is the proper term for a Voodoo wizardess, but it just occurred to me that "Voodoo Witch" would be a great name for sludge metal band. HMU if you need more ideas) Marie Laveau: Song's about her, she was, like, rumored to be immortal and stuff and we thought it would make a cool story.
lyrics
She had the power to know, to destroy
She saw into the secrets, beyond the void
Gods of motherland down in New Orleans
She’s got spirit bloodline. She’s a Voodoo Queen
Sleeping voices echo to me, form the netherworld.
Her eyes like fires burning where my heart’s interred.
No one is prayin’ for me, I’m have gone alone.
Her words are a blade that slices down to the bone
And from the grave I’m creepin she says, “Come to me.”
My heart now belongs to the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans
Her name is whispered softly, Marie Laveaux
They say she’s ancient magic - centuries old
“My love kiss me gently,” she whispers low
Dark skin shines like water in the fire’s glow
